Projects

  Every Body Dances

The Every Body Dances project provides weekly classes for older people in different areas of the Rochdale Borough. These sessions are fun, creative and inclusive and everybody works to their own ability.

Sessions are funded by class fees and Link4Life.

Do you wish you could go somewhere where you can let your hair down, make new friends, dance, exercise, and not be embarrassed as well as enjoying every minute? The Every Body Dances Classes provide all of this for anybody and everybody that wants to dance.

  Positive Living Project

Do you feel like you could use a little more positivity in your life? Would you like to have the confidence to try new things and meet new people?

The Positive Living Project is a monthly workshop that aims to INSPIRE, MOTIVATE AND SUPPORT people to prioritise their wellbeing both physically and emotionally. Workshops are delivered through friendly discussion and gentle exercises along with a good helping of tea and biscuits.

Funded by the Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton CCG, these sessions are held monthly at Touchstones Arts and Heritage Centre.

  Dance Blend

Dance Blend! is the 2014 Spiral Dance and Oulder Hill Community School dance platform held annually and open to schools, community groups and private dance organisations from across the Rochdale, Oldham and Bury boroughs. This year it will be on the 16th March 2014 at Gracie Fields Theatre!

The showcase is themed every year, and to tie in with all the collaborative arts work going on in the borough the theme is Dance Blend- combining dance with other art forms to create exciting pieces of stage performance. All groups are invited to apply to perform and the event attracts hundreds of audience members every year.

Funded by Link4Life.

  Inside Out

Inside Out is an annual dance project funded by Link4Life that enables us to work with groups of young people to introduce them to dance and take them to cultural venues that they may not have visited in the past due to disadvantage such as disability or deprivation.

  Unite Dance Company

Unite Dance Company is an annual project delivered between Oulder Hill Community School and Redwood School as an exchange project. Can’t Dance Can work with 14 students, bringing them together to create an integrated dance company. The group then perform at the Dance Blend Showcase.
